It is used in the production of vinyl chloride, trichloroethylene, vinylidene chloride and trichloroethane. It scavenges lead from gasoline and is used as a paint and varnish remover. Other uses include metal degreasing, soaps, wetting agent, organic systhesis, solvent, fumigant, pesticide and an extraction solvent. |
