Uses |
|
IPA is used as a solvent for essential oils, alkloids, gums, resins, cellulose derivatives and coatings. It is used a a deicing agent for liquid fuels. It is a dehydrating agent and is used to denature ethanol. IPA is used in the manufacturing of acetone, glycerol, and isopropyl acetate, and as a preservative in extraction processes. IPA is also an effective antiseptic in topical applications. |
