Methyl acetate is a
colourless liquid with a fragrant odour.

Uses
|
It is used as a
solvent in paint removers, and as a solvent for lacquers, resins, oils,
cellulose nitrate, nitrocellulose, acetylcellulose. It is an intermediate. It is also used as a synthetic flavour in foods and
pharmaceutical preparations.
