Description

Propanol was discovered in crude fusel oil and obtained by fractionation; it is available as a by-product of the reaction between carbon monoxide and hydrogen.

 

It is a liquid that is alcoholic and slightly stupefying odour.

 

Uses

Propanol is used as a solvent for resins and cellulose esters.
